  • Attributes

Title & Tags 

*Items in Etsy's search results will match with the buyer/searchers phrases and words 
            EX; Looking for "Banana Backpack" the KEYWORDS here are "BANANA" and       
            "BACKPACK"  The matching product will have those keywords in the title and/or tags.

  • Algorithm picks matching tags and titles to be more relevant and shown more in results. 
  • Matches are more likely with phrases instead on single words 
  • Words and phrases at the beginning of the tittle is more important then the ending of the title. 
  • Same keywords in Title should be used in Tags 

Attributes

*Similar to keywords in title, Attributes act as extra tags to help Etsy's search engine pick the best product for the buyer. 

  • Things Like Color and Materials like "SILVER" or " TEAL" 
  • Occasions, holidays and themes 
  • Sizes and variations 
  • Specific Categories 

Listing Quality 

*Etsy's Algorithm determines a listings quality by how well they do in the search when viewed. 
  • More Faves, Clicks, Orders = more quality 
  • ENTICING Thumbnails = more clicks 
  • Proper Pricing 

Customer & Market Experience 

*Complete these things to help boost your Customer and Market Experience. 

  • Shop About Me
  • Completed orders (in a timely manner) 
  • Complete Policies 
  • Get good reviews 
  • Communicate with buyers 

Recency

*Newer listings are pinged as more relevant on automatic in the algorithm.
  • Renew listings that are doing well 
  • Add a new listing as often as possible 

Shop Location 

*The Algorithm does it's best to keep buyers in more "local" shops.
