5 DIY Earrings To Make and Sell
These five earring designs are so easy and simple, they are the perfect things to add to your handmade jewelry shop or a quick craft to help you save up for whatever your so heart desires. The supplies varies for each design but the tools are pretty simple.
You just need a needle end pair of pliers and another pair of pliers to open and close the jump rings. You can use your fingers to open and close the jump rings but I'm afraid you'll find that to be a painful process. You can get two pairs of beading pliers at any craft store for about $5-$10 buck each so I recommend making the investment, if not for time but for your finger tips! Oh, and a hot glue gun & a paint brush for one of the designs.
The supplies for these earring would also be found around those pliers! For each design you will need different beads and amounts of supplies, but for the most part your gonna want these findings:
-Jump rings
-Eye pins
-Ball pins (or nail head pins)
-Chain (for 2/5 designs)
-Earring findings
-Hot glue sticks & Paint (for 1/5 of the designs)
These earrings are super easy but the drying time makes these very time consuming. I suggest setting up a drying rack of a sorts so you can let the pieces dry on their own time OR holding them in the freezer for about 30 secs BETWEEN each layer of hot glue.
The rally cool things bout these though is you can make them look all sorts of different ways! Here I used "drip dry" methods so they looked more abstracts. I am sure you could make some really cool shapes though!
You Will Need :
-Hot glue
-2 Earring findings
-2 Jump rings
-2 eye pins
-2 Pliers
-Hot glue gun
-Paint (I used acrylic)
-Paint brush
2) "Chandelier" Hanging earrings
These earrings are a very simple design and are very quick to make. You can make their size range and the colors different. I am sure you could also make the beads form in a Chevron pattern! They don't require any wait time for drying or setting. You just put the beads on the pins, then the pins on the chain and hook it up to an earring finding!
You Will Need;
- 2 pliers
- 20 "bigger beads"
- 30-40 seed beads
-6 ball point or needle head pins
-2 eye pins
-6 jump rings
- 2 pieces of chain (equal length)
3)Cluster Hanging Earrings
These are really pretty and again super time considerate! The only thing that takes about 10 minutes is closing all the pins on the beads. But after all your beads are turned into little charms, it take about 2 minutes to put them on the ends of your chain pieces. Then hook em up to an earring finding and VIOLA! New earrings in under 30 mins!
YOU WILL NEED;
-2 pliers
-2 earring findings
- Beads (You can really use however many beads you want, I used a total of 40 beads for the green earrings pictured above and then I used about 30 for the center pair pictured above. The more beads, the fuller a cluster!)
- The same amount of jump rings as your beads + 2
- 2 pieces of chain ( equal length)
4) Dream Catcher Earrings
These earrings seem complicated, but they really are not. The little rings are a bit harder to find though. They are ment to make little charms to hook on your wine glass. They used to be in a bunch of earring kit when I was younger, but I guess the jewelry making market gave up on them.
