Average Jewelry Measurements You Need To Know!
When making jewelry for specific person it is always a good idea to ask them for their measurements. But what do you do when you are just making a sock of jewelry? Well you rely on average measurements and adjustable chains. So here are all the average measurements you should need including how much adjustable chain you should use.
CHOKERS
Average measurements are 16 inches long. I always have an adjustable chain on my choker necklaces to allow for 15 inches to 18 inches. So my beaded design is around 14 inches long and the adjustable chain is 4 inches long.

PRINCESS NECKLACE
A princes necklace hangs just below the collar bones. Normally around 18 inches long. When I make this legnth of a necklace I also add an adjustable chain. So my bead design is 16 inches long and the adjustable chain is 4 inches long to allow 16 to 20 inches of length so the pendant can hang properly on anyone.
MATINEE NECKLACE
These necklaces are on average 20 to 24 inches long and often have bulky pendants. When I make this length of necklaces my bead design is 20 inches long and my adjustable chain is 4 inches long to allow a length option of 20 to 24 inches.
OPERA NECKLACE
These necklace styles are very low hanging, normally from 28 - 36 inches long. I often have adjustable 4 inches of adjustable chain on 30 inches of beaded design to allow for 30 inches to 34 inches of length.
BRACELETS
WOMEN'S: 6.5 - 7.5 inches
MEN'S: 7.5 - 9 inches
These are average measurements*** The best way to find the PROPER measurement for your wrist is to wrap a seamstress measuring tape around where your want the bracelet to sit comfortably
( Make sure you leave a bit of wiggle room if you are using large beads! )
ANKLETS
The bracelets for your ankle! Anklets are normally around 8-9 inches long.
Again this is an average measurement, wrap a measuring tape around where you want your anklet to sit and keep in mind the size of beads in your design.
